The exhibition forms part of Artes Mundi 11, the UK’s leading biennial exhibition of international contemporary art. This specially designed tour for blind and visually impaired people will give you an insight into the artist’s practice and provide a powerful mental image that will illuminate the work and ideas contained within.
Kameelah Janan Rasheed explores the poetics, politics, and pleasures of communication through her multidisciplinary practice involving the speculative relationships between written language, surrogacy, and desire. Her work spans immersive installations, public art, publications, performances, and video, with a focus on language as material and immaterial.
