Saturday 5 October 2024
10:00 am - 6:00 pm
As part of ‘We Are All Artists’ and ‘Swansea Arts Weekend’, Glynn Vivian Gallery invites you to take part in our Skate Photography Competition.
This event is in celebration of the brand new show by Skin Phillips, 360°, currently on display at the Glynn Vivian until 5 January 2025.
This exciting exhibition showcases Phillips’ iconic photography from Swansea to Los Angeles, capturing some of the most defining moments in skateboarding history.
In addition to showcasing his early works, Phillips has been commissioned to create a new series of photographs capturing the contemporary Swansea skateboarding scene, which will be acquired for the Gallery’s permanent collection. This series highlights the vibrancy and diversity of the local skateboarding community, reinforcing the cultural significance of skateboarding in Swansea.
The new commissions are part of ‘We Are All Artists’ supported by the Culture & Tourism Anchor at Swansea Council and funded by the UK Government’s Shared Prosperity Fund. ‘We Are All Artists’ is part of Swansea Arts Weekend, taking place across the city 4 – 6 October 2024.
