Postcard to the Future

Friday 7 August 2020 //  by laura.gill

Throughout August and September, we would like to invite you to send a postcard to the Gallery.

This could be a drawing, a poem, a written postcard, a painting, a collage or you could attach a photograph.

We would like you to focus on the future; for example, what are your dreams? What changes do you imagine taking place? What challenges do we face? What world might we create together?

Please indicate which side of the postcard you would like us to display by adding your name (or initials) and where you are from (or this can be completely anonymous).

There are no age limits, it is open to everyone, so please share widely, we would love to receive these postcards from all over our city and beyond!

The collection of postcards will be exhibited at the Gallery when we reopen. After they have been displayed we will then store these as part of the Gallery’s Collection as to celebrate your artworks and to act as a reminder of this particular moment in time for future generations.

Please send your Postcard to the Future to Glynn Vivian Art Gallery, Alexandra Road, Swansea SA1 5DZ

Postcards – these can be any postcard, one you have at home, one you make yourself but should be postcard sized, A6 size (148mm x 106mm). Postcards can be horizontal or vertical. One entry per person.

Deadline for entries is Sunday 27 September, 2020.
