Queering Wales, Connecting People – Have you seen the horizon lately? Led by Vivian Ross-Smith

Wednesday 26 June 2024 //  by laura.gill

Wednesday 26 June 2024
6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Age 16+

In this experimental workshop, we will explore performance scores, playing with physical gestures in a digital landscape.

Artist Vivian Ross-Smith will discuss how she bridges digital and physical space through performance and together we will recreate scores and write our own to find ways of connecting our individual Zoom boxes into a digital community.

A performance score is a set of instructions that outlines a singular or series of movements generating a performance or gesture.

Vivian considers how the internet can act as an integral meeting place for people and ideas and allows notions of ‘central’ to be redefined. This workshop celebrates the willingness of strangers to form a community and support each other’s creativity from afar.

The Queering Wales – Connecting People project is run by On Your Face.

On Your Face is a social enterprise bringing visibility to the LGBTQ+ creatives of Wales through queer cultural events in the rural areas, an online directory (onyourfacecollective.org) and the creation of paid jobs for the community across Wales.
