‘We are looking west along Gower Street towards Heathfield Street, both now part of the Kingsway. These crowded little streets, which were a continuation of College Street, are quite gone. An exception is Mount Pleasant Chapel, which, though a very large building, escaped serious damage. What we now call the Dynevor Centre for Art Design and Media, immediately behind it, certainly did not. Other examples of this were the huge Plaza cinema, which would be just out of sight in the background of this picture, and the police station in Orchard Street’.
