Swansea’s Cultural Learning Programme for Schools, led by experienced artist-educators with specialist knowledge

Swansea Council’s Museums, Galleries and Archives services are unique places of discovery, where pupils and teachers can enjoy new learning experiences outside of the classroom environment.

Our cultural venues provide opportunities for pupils to develop their skills and understanding as we encourage them to explore and question the world around them.

Our 4Site sessions are led by artist educators and trained museum and archives staff, linking the city’s collection displays, exhibitions, archives and other resources to Key Stage themes, through a range of creative approaches and workshops.

Through a visit, we are able to provide cross curricular skills and learning, meeting the needs of children within the Foundation Phase and into Key Stage 2. Our venues also provide tailor made learning packages for Secondary Schools and Colleges.

Each venue can offer a range of themes relating to the curriculum with full information of the sessions available on our website www.swansea.gov.uk/4Site. Alternatively please contact the venue to discuss your chosen topics. Additional resources are available online and enquiries can be made when booking your visit.

4Site cultural venues include Dylan Thomas Centre, Glynn Vivian Art Gallery, Swansea Museum and West Glamorgan Archive Service

Membership costs £200 for 12 months (April – March).
