A Friends of the Glynn Vivian talk with Nigel Prince

Friday 7 November 2025 //  by laura.gill

Friday 7 November 2025
12:30 pm - 1:30 pm

Kameelah Janan Rasheed, Call and Response: “I want to write to you like someone learning.” (Clarice Lispector, Água Viva, 1973) 2023

Join us for this free talk with Artes Mundi Director, Nigel Prince.

From inside the Artes Mundi 11 exhibition in the Atrium at Glynn Vivian Art Gallery, Prince will explore the work of Artes Mundi 11 (AM11) shortlisted artist, Kameelah Janan Rasheed.

For AM11, Rasheed has developed two installations, one solo presentation at Glynn Vivian Art Gallery and the other set within the National Museum Cardiff. Combining new work with new versions of continuing bodies of work, both installations play with the physical space, weaving together pieces to probe histories of Black improvisation, play and experimental poetics. They examine strategies for how text can be alive and vibrant across various architectural contexts.

Artes Mundi 11 with presenting partner Bagri Foundation features six international contemporary visual artists and takes place across Wales.

Free. Booking essential. Limited spaces available
