Creative Workshops for young people (age 13-17) drawing on the screen-based collection with artist Zillah Bowes

Tuesday 26 May 26
1:30pm – 4:30pm
A creative writing workshop using fiction from life inspired by Anthony Shapland’s Only Your Eyes Are Unclosed, 2008 and [pause] Time & Motion Study, 2012.
Participants will explore creative writing by responding to the gallery environment. They will take a series of photos in the gallery e.g. an object, an empty space or through a window. They will then write short fiction pieces responding to these images, blending memory, observation and invention.
They will experiment with writing from different points of view and play with associations between what they observe and what they imagine. The focus will be on noticing details and transforming them into expressive language that reflects both lived experience and creative interpretation.
