October Half Term Activities – Fantastical Super-sized Story Plates

Wednesday 29 October 2025 //  by laura.gill

Wednesday 29 October 2025
10:30 am - 12:30 pm

Create your own out-of-this-world, super-sized story plates, in this family workshop for all ages.

In our Tigers & Dragons exhibition, Adeela Suleman uses vintage ceramics to paint a lesser told history of the British in India, so we’re going to make our own plates that tell of our passions, heritage and stories – real and fantastically imaginative!

Design, draw, paint, collage, sculpt and craft your ideas into a beautifully finished realistic looking plate, worthy of any Welsh dresser!

This workshop is part of our ongoing Swansea Stories project. The gallery has a collection of over 11,000 artworks – tell us your stories and keep the collection interesting for future generations!

Important information: We have a dedicated quiet space for families and children with sensory needs. If the busy workshop is overwhelming for you or your children, please speak to staff on the day or email Richard.Monahan@swansea.gov.uk prior to the workshop for more information.
