Thursday 29 April 2021
10:30 am - 3:00 pm

Various age groups

An open art class exploring and responding to the Gallery’s exhibitions and collection displays. Using different materials and techniques, we provide opportunities for participants to develop their skills and confidence and to meet new people. The classes are aimed at anyone not in mainstream education, home-schooled children and those looking for a new challenge.

Discover (Age 6-10)

Thursdays, 10:30 – 11:30

An experimental and fun introduction to art materials, ideas and the gallery space. As part of this group we will offer young artists the opportunity to gain their Discover Arts Award.

Bronze (Age 11-14)

Thursdays, 12:00-13:30

A range of experimental workshops, collaborative art, talks and tutorials responding to the gallery’s collections and contemporary art shows. As part of this course we support young artists to try and achieve their Bronze Arts Award. Bronze Arts Award is a Level 1 qualification on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF). There is no requirement for participants to take this qualification to join the group.

Silver (Age 14-16)

Thursdays, 14:00 – 15:00

A range of workshops, tutorials, leadership tasks, art analysis and self-led work, YAF Silver is an opportunity for young people that want to step up their interest in a particular art form and develop their art and leadership skills. As part of this course we offer young artists support to try and achieve their Silver Arts Award, a Level 2 qualification on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) involving a total of 95 learning hours. There is no requirement for participants to take this qualification to join the group.
