Creative Workshops for young people (age 13-17) drawing on the screen-based collection with artist Zillah Bowes
Video Editing
Tuesday 21 April 26
1:30pm – 4:30pm
A video and sound editing workshop using found footage inspired by Alex Duncan’s Wavy Gravy, 2014 and Cinzia Mutigli’s Sweet Wall, 2020.
Participants will search for and download royalty-free video footage online, choosing clips that interest or intrigue them. They will rearrange this material to edit a 2-3 minute moving image piece. Participants will record their own audio eg. voice, ambient sound or effects, and/or source royalty-free audio online, to edit with the video. Through repetition, reordering, changing speed, flipping or inverting image and sound, and applying simple effects, participants will actively transform the found footage to create new perspectives and meanings.
